Branson's knowledge of Native American mysticism and culture was very enlightening. The secondary characters helped carry the story along really well and added genuine depth to the author's style. While Phoebe is very easy to identify and sympathize with, Alex is bound to leave the reader breathless with pulses racing! Branson has shown exceptional talent for storytelling, enmeshing spirituality and suspense so well in a tale about a woman's fight to defy the odds and emerge victorious.
